PUMPKINS

Thanks to Kent Farms and Wabi Sabi Orchard for their pumpkin donations that will be given to grandchildren of elderly suffering with Alzheimer's, at our upcoming iron pour. Children can pick to take their pumpkin home or watch as we pour molten iron into them!

Thanks Autumn Newcomb for are awesome new logo!! T-Shirts will be available at the Alzheimer's Glass and Iron Pour and Hot Shop Demoes on October 26th at the National Casting Center and Hot shop at the New York State College of Ceramics!

Polish and New Artists

This week the Alzheimer’s Glass and Iron crew took a break from the watercolor and iron oxide paintings, and painted nails instead! If you are in the Alfred area and interested in learning to blow glass for the project please come to the Alfred University Hot Shop from 8-11 Sunday the 6th. If you are interested in learning to cast iron for the project please meet at the National Casting Center Foundry at noon of Sunday.

SAW Alzheimer's Glass and Iron

This weekend participants of the Alzheimer’s Glass and Iron Project from Salem Art Works and Alfred University’s Foundry Guild poured pieces for the project. The Metal Was Hot for the seventh year in a row at Salem Art Works a non-for profit sculpture park and artist residency!! Thank you Salem Art Works and your AMAZING STAFF for hosting the event! Iron sculptures poured and the paintings the made by the elderly of Washington County and Bennington Vermont, that the sculptures were based off of will be shown at the Alzheimer’s Glass and Iron Show and Auction in October 2014 at Salem Art Works.
